Who We AreDivision 11 consists of nearly 78 members among three flotillas in the lower portion of Idaho. From Caldwell to Idaho Falls. Members range in age from 21 to 70. What We DoDivision 11 provides administrative, training, communication and supervisory support to the four flotillas under its control. As a civilian, non-military component of the U.S. Coast Guard, Division 11 directly supports all of the Coast Guard's missions except military and law enforcement actions. Division 11 does not directly provide boating education or vessel safety checks. Its affiliated flotillas provides these services. Flotilla members actively provide safety patrols on Idaho's area waterways and regularly meet with the boating public at marinas and in classrooms. They also assist the U.S. Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as search and rescue, and marine environmental protection. During the 2004 boating season, the four Division 11 flotillas performed 259 Vessel Safety Checks; conducted 53 hours of Boating Safety Education; and engaged in 793 hours of Safety Patrols, assisting 32 boaters with vessels cumulatively valued at over $267,000.00. |
